Programme Description
General and specific objectives
The main objective of this programme is to promote international mobility in research and teaching on the fields related to Finno-Ugric linguistics, ethnology and folklore. At the same time it strengthens the cultural and linguistic ties between the Uralic nations and Finland.

Priority actions
Post-graduate students of Finno-Ugric linguistics at kindred universities in Russia can apply for a scholarship for research at a Finnish university

Management and coordination
The prerequisite for applying is that the visiting student or researcher must have established contacts with the Finnish host university. The Finnish university department wishing to host him or her applies to CIMO for the grant.
(CIMO is a permanent office that co-ordinates student exchange programmes, in addition to a number of other tasks). The selection process is carried out in cooperation with the M. A. Castrén Society (http://www.helsinki.fi/jarj/macastren/english/index.html).
