General and specific objectives
To develop and strengthen bilateral relations and enhance mutual trust, understanding and friendship through educational cooperation.

Expected or achieved outputs, outcomes and impacts
- Both Parties will endeavour to expand the exchange of students and will provide scholarships for this purpose. During the effectiveness of this Agreement, both sides will exchange 2 (two) man-year scholarships annually, which means that each year the number of students from one side studying at the other side under this agreement will not exceed two. The sending party will send undergraduate, postgraduate students and research fellows in accordance with its needs. The length of the study period for undergraduate and postgraudate students shall be decided according to the educational system of the receiving party. The length of study for research/visiting scholars shall not exceed one scholastic year (11 months in China).
- Both Parties will encourage self-financed students to study in the other country.
- Both sides will actively encourage the establishment and/or further development of collaborative relationships between higher education institutions in the two countries
- Both sides will support joint research in areas of mutual interest undertaken by, amongst others, higher education institutions
- Both parties encourage the exchanges of teachers and students
- Each side will encourage the study of the language of the other side and will seek ways of cooperation to improve the quality of the teaching of that language in its own country.
- Both sides agree to enhance the exchange of education information and agree to implement this by exchanging delegations and encouraging experts to attend seminars in the other country.
