Programme Description
General and specific objectives
- Contribution to enriching the supply of French teaching
- Support the diffusion of French in the world and the francophone countries
- Intercultural outlook offered to students
- Promotion of student mobility (from primary to university)
- Initial professionalization of the future teachers
- Interdisciplinary approach to the “language” subject

Priority actions
All levels of education are concerned.
The role of Assistant could include :
1. Support the development of the competences in oral expression and comprehension of the students
2. Support the work of the permanent teachers
3. Participation in educational activities within the school/ university
4. Support to pupils with difficulties
5. Participation to the organisation of inter-school exchanges
6. Transversalisation of the subject « foreign language » : teaching another subject in a foreign language
7. Elaboration of documentary resources for teaching to students
8. Contribution to curriculum reform

Management and coordination
The foreign education institutions with the diplomatic posts (cultural services) and the unit « Assistants » of the Département langues étrangères within the CIEP (centre international d’études pédagogiques).
