Programme Description
General and specific objectives
The Danish government offers a number of scholarships available to students from non-EU/EEA students at graduate level. These scholarships are substantial in size; the scholarship consists of a full tuition fee waiver and a monthly allowance for a total of 22 months. The criterion for the awarding of the scholarships is academic excellence.
The main objective is to attract the most qualified non-EU/EEA students to Danish master’s degrees (the 2-year candidatus programme (MSc/MA)).
The size of the scholarships is settled on the annual State Budget.

Priority actions

Management and coordination
On the annual State Budget an amount of scholarships and appropriation for the tuition fee waiver is allocated to the universities.
The amount of scholarships to each university is calculated by The Danish University and Property Agency( which is an authority within The Ministry of Science, Technology and Development), and based partly on the educational activity in the fields of natural, technical and health sciences and partly on the amount of exchange students at the university.
The universities themselves manage the granting of scholarships to the applicants.

Expected or achieved outputs, outcomes and impacts
Increased recruitment of excellent non EU/EEA students.
